The Town Clerk's office has vital records that date back to 1770. Per state statute, all births over 100 years old are open to the public. Birth certificates are on file for anyone born in Brooklyn, or anyone whose mother resided in Brooklyn at the time of his or her birth. Photo identification must be presented when request is made. Birth records may be obtained in-person, by mail or online. If a request is made by mail, a copy of the applicant's photo identification must be attached. You may request a birth certificate for yourself, your child, grandchild, parent, grandparent or spouse.

Marriage Records

Marriage certificates are recorded in the town the marriage occurred.  If you are a Connecticut resident, you may obtain a copy of your marriage license from the Town Clerk in the town you reside in after the 15th day of the following month after the marriage.  Marriages are open to the public and may be requested in-person, by mail or online. Certified copies of marriage licenses are $20.00 per copy.

Death Records

Death certificates are recorded in the town of occurrence or in the town the person lived in at the time of their death. Death records are open to the public and may be requested in-person, by mail or online. Certified copies of death records are $20.00 per copy.
