2022 Grand List Bill Due Dates

2023-2024 Tax Calendar

                    July 1, 2023 – August 1, 2023                    

October 1, 2023 – November 1, 2023 

January 1, 2024 – February 1, 2024

April 1, 2024 – May 1, 2024 

Please Note: The Town Hall will be closed, but taxes are still due.  You can bring your payment to the post office and have them postmark your envelope in order to avoid interest.

 

Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes

Real estate and personal property taxes over $50.00 are due in four (4) equal installments.  Notices will not be sent each quarter; please mark your calendars.  The due dates are:

July 1st                               October 1st                              January 1st                              April 1st

Any real estate and/or personal property taxes that are under $50.00 are due in one (1) installment that will be due on July 1st.

 

Motor Vehicle Taxes

Payments of all motor vehicle taxes are due in full on July 1st.

 

Supplemental Motor Vehicle Taxes

Payments of all supplemental motor vehicle taxes are due in full on January 1st.

 

Motor Vehicle Releasing with DMV

Please Note: In order to be released with DMV, all delinquent payments must be made by cash, credit card (fees apply), debit card (fees apply), or money order/cashier's check.  If a payment is made with a personal check or e-check, the vehicle will be released in 10 days.  If you make an online payment with a credit/debit card and need a release with DMV right away, please call the Tax Office (860-779-3411, opt. 5) after making your payment and let the office know you need a release.  If you do not notify the office, you will be released with DMV in 10 days, due to how the system works.  

Late Payments

Penalties for late payments will be assessed as required by the Connecticut General Statutes at a rate of 1.5% per month from the due date.  The minimum interest charged is $2.00.
