Brooklyn is blessed with many natural assets. We have 17 miles of scenic byways along route 169 and a rich history with Israel Putnam and the County Courthouse, now housing the Town offices.

We are a growing Town with an active commercial zone on Route 6, while maintaining our rural and agricultural roots. Our commercial zone meets many shopping needs of residents within our Town. We offer restaurants, scenic views, parks along the Quinebaug River, a golf course, antique shops, green houses and nurseries, agricultural tours, farms and more to make Brooklyn an attractive Town to live in or visit.

Brooklyn is served by an excellent K-8 school system and the high school students are tuitioned out. We offer programs to meet recreational needs as well as our senior citizens. The Town has two fire departments that provide fire and ambulance service and two Resident Troopers compliment our safety needs.

A new administration is taking over with a new Board of Selectmen. We hope to encourage citizen's involvement in our government and to contribute through committees, commissions and public comment.
